Brown patinated bronze in excellent condition, placed on a round black marble base.
Signed „F. Paris“ (probably Johann Philip Ferdinand Preiss, 1882 - 1943)
Foundry emblem: BJB Bronze Garanti
Classic Art Deco motif of a dancing woman wearing a short floral dress and a tight-fitting headdress, typical of the fashion of the 1920s and 1930s. During the Roaring Twenties, Ferdinand Preiss was influenced by various factors, including the rich cultural life of Berlin and its lively nightlife with dance revues, but also by the images published in international magazines. The atmosphere in Berlin was extremely liberal, and the city was the place to be for nightlife and entertainment, as depicted in the modern-day series "Babylon Berlin," which is set in Art Deco-era Berlin.
