Claude VERDIER (1932-1997)

Important lot of approximately 240 original drawings.

Various subjects: Provence, Gard, Paris, Italy, still lifes, landscapes, crustaceans etc.

Some drawings from the 50s.

Many large formats, various techniques: inks, Watercolors, collages, a few rare engravings, oil on paper, red chalk...

Attached to his southern origins, most of Claude Verdier's works were inspired by landscapes of the Gard. Perched villages, massifs, thistles and hazelnuts come to life in his works. A true naturalist, this former student of André Lhote exhibited during his lifetime in Paris as well as abroad. The Uzès museum dedicated a retrospective to him in 1998.
