This sculpture is a unique piece signed by Anton Nelson engraved directly in the sculpture, whose real name is Antoine Joseph Van Den Kerckhove, born in Brussels in 1849 and died in 1910. Artistic career: Coming from a family of sculptors, he is the son of Auguste Van Den Kerckhove and was his student. He began his artistic activity around 1880, then after a stint in London, settled in Paris; renowned for his female busts in the Art Nouveau style, he also worked in London and then in Paris between the 1890s and 1910s, adopting materials such as bronze, terracotta, alabaster and marble. His works demonstrate a stylistic finesse characteristic of his work.
