"Venetian Mirror In Pink Lacquer With "arte Povera" Decoration, Venice Circa 1740"
An extremely rare mirror with the finest pink color and Arte Povera decorations on gilded cartouches. The mirror was never touched and is preserved in its original condition. Venice is famous for its unusual base colors in "Chinese varnish." Besides turquoise blue, soft pink is extremely rare. Unfortunately, this pink cannot be faithfully reproduced in photos. Circa 1740. A very similar pair was sold at Christies Monaco in 1999 with an estimate of 150-200,000 FFr and was sold for ca. 35,000 Euro. High-resolution photos are available.
