Franco-Russian painter born in Moscow and died in Nîmes in 1998. A quick-brush gouache painter, he was also an engraver and poster artist. A specialist in graphic arts. From 1948 onwards, he devoted himself exclusively to painting. He traveled to Portugal and Algeria. He developed a strong interest in natural history. He held numerous solo exhibitions in Paris, Cologne, New York, and Düsseldorf. This painting was probably created during his travels in Algeria.
