Very pretty art nouveau tray in walnut and marquetry, by Emile gallé, early 20th century. Japanese-style marquetry signature at the bottom of the decoration. Motif of the medieval Alsatian castle of Ortenbourg. In the foreground: luxuriant vines remind us that we are in Alsace, and the handles in the shape of chimeras confirm the medieval character of the motif. Very good condition, beautiful waxed patina.
