Marcel Basler Oil On Canvas Abstract Landscape 1955 Whitewashed Frame Dedication

This oil on canvas is in good overall condition. It has not been cleaned or restored, note some small marks on the sky (see photos). The overall picture remains fresh. The frame is whitewashed. Dedication on the back and dated 26/04/55 Marcel Basler (1917-1990) is a French painter. Until the end of the sixties, Marcel Basler's work was essentially figurative and was expressed in gouaches as well as watercolors and oil paintings. From the 70s, turning away from the field which had been his until then and which had opened many doors for him, he turned exclusively towards abstract art, and it is tormented works which mark this last period of his life.
