Biography:
GASPARE GABRIELLI, born in 1770 in Rome and died around 1828/1833 in the same city, is an Italian painter, active in the painting of land and seascapes in a neoclassical style.
He worked for many years in Dublin, Ireland where he resided until 1819.
He exhibited twice at the Royal Academy in London.
Gaspare Gabrielli also painted frescoes at Tandragee Castle for the Duke of Manchester, and in the salon at number 41 North Great George's Street.
In Cromwell's "Excursions through Ireland", published in 1820, there are two plates taken from drawings by Gabrielli: "Carlow Castle" and "Drimnagh Castle". In Dublin, Gaspare Gabrielli was active as a landscape painter, participating in various exhibitions between 1809 and 1814, and holding the position of vice-president of the Society of Artists of Ireland in 1811.
He returned to Rome in 1819.
