Mainly known for his tapestry works, Jean Lurçat nevertheless expressed himself with talent in very diverse fields such as painting, drawing, watercolor, ceramics. Influenced by many movements, Lurçat is essentially symbolist. We find in his works recurring symbols like the rooster, harbinger of the dawn or the sun, symbol of life, the owl represents wisdom and knowledge.
