Curved Chest Of Drawers In Rosewood, Late Regency, Early Louis XV, Stamped François Fleury
Chest of drawers from the late Regency, early Louis XV period, circa 1730. Stamped F*F for François Fleury.
Curved on all sides, opening with five drawers on three rows.
In rosewood marquetry.
The high-quality bronzes are original. We find the F*F, JME stamp on the two rear uprights.
Beautiful red Ardennes marble, restored.

FLEURY FRANÇOIS
This cabinetmaker is mentioned until the beginning of the reign of Louis XVI rue Traversière, where he would have taken over the first workshop of his brother Adrien. We do not know of his stamp but the initials "FF" are sometimes attributed to him. This mark appears on some good Louis XV furniture, including a curved chest of drawers with a crossbow face and three rows of drawers, violet wood veneer, rich bronze decoration, 86 x 114 cm, sold at the Hôtel Drouot on June 12, 1987.
