"19th-century Meissen Porcelain Figurine"
The figurine depicts a standing male figure, embodying the allegory of Winter. The man, with a thick white beard, is dressed in a dark purple robe, trimmed with a wide fur trim that envelops him and protects him from the cold. The fur is also visible inside the cloak, which covers his shoulders and part of his chest, leaving his lower body exposed. His arms and legs are well-defined.
The figure rests on a rocky base that simulates snowy or frozen ground, decorated with light gold accents. At his feet are other symbolic elements that recall winter: on the left, a jug or amphora of wine, an element that alludes to the typical warming beverage during the cold months; on the right, at the foot of the base, a small fire or fireplace.
This type of allegorical figurine, representing the seasons, was produced by the Meissen manufactory in the 19th century, following original 18th-century models. The attention to detail, the vibrant polychrome of the cloak, and the balanced composition make it a representative example of the high-quality production of Meissen porcelain.
It has no cracks.
