Gras-type breech block. Breech lever marked BSGDG and V. GARRIGUES on the right side; QUAND MÊCHE 1870. 18.. and other marks symbolizing hallmarks on the left side.
Metric rear sight on the breech block.
Smoothbore iron barrel with front sight and bayonet lug.
Hinged cap
Long wooden stock; hinged at the butt. Iron butt plate marked V. GARRGUES INVENTEUR TOULOUSE.
The stock bears an iron medallion marked: Vor GARRIGUES Bte SGDG TOULOUSE DOCKS DU CAMPEMENT.
