Pair of two geometric dinner or side chairs by the Spanish mid-century designer Jordi Vilanova. Designed and manufactured in the sixties in natural solid wood and thick saddle leather, the chairs have gathered beautiful patina. Jordi Vilanova i Bosch (Rubí, 1925 – Barcelona, 1998) was a well known interior and furniture designer and decorator.
This set with their square shaped modernist wooden frames and cognac brown leather seat and leather back have a robust silhouette typical to Vilanova’s style. Jordi Vilanova’s work focused on the design of furniture and objects, from chairs and children’s furniture, to mirrors and lamps. He developed in small series, with high-quality materials and designed to last over time. His style, defined as Mediterranean, was based on the synthesis of various traditions, such as traditional Catalan rural furniture and Scandinavian furniture.
