18th Century Dutch Silver-plated Copper Snuffbox
Dutch silver-plated copper snuffbox with engraved decoration of fishing scenes and bawdy scenes. On the lid several men dressed like Gilles are engaging a lady with unequivocal gestures and on the other a man is lifting his fishing nets full of fish. The copper is silver-plated with however savings which give a beautiful effect of relief and perspective to the decoration. The snuffbox can be dated to the end of the 17th century or the beginning of the 18th century. Very good condition. Dimensions: 12cm by 7cm. Height 3.6cm.
