"Pair Of Large Lumina 25,6" Lighting Lamp Sculptures By Le Verrier Era Fayral, Bouraine"
Important and rare genuine pair of large and iconic Lumina lighting sculptures from the Art Deco period circa 1928, in cast iron from an old edition by Max Le Verrier, depicting dancers with clean lines holding an opaline glass globe in their hands. They rest on a stepped black Belgian marble, the original nuanced light green patina characteristic of the oldest models. These lamps are electrified and perfectly functional. Signatures "Le Verrier" intaglio on the bases of the two sculptures and stamp on each of the sculptures. Authentic models from old editions.
These are not reissues. Very good original condition, slight wearwith an excellent light green patina.
These are flagship models from the Max Le Verrier workshops, made in different sizes, which, after winning a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925, produced several sculptures. This one has been exhibited at the Pompidou Center, at Harrods in London, at the Grand Palais, as well as at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes and at the Lutetia Hotel in Paris, which had two examples before its last renovation.
