Elegant wall clock known as a "cartel", made of carved, gilded and polychromed wood in shades of soft green and gold highlighted with red. Rococo decoration typical of the Louis XV style with leafy scrolls and sculpted flowers. Wooden dial with white enameled cartouches with black Roman numerals. Mechanical spring movement, spiral gong visible inside. To be checked or revised for optimal operation. Work from the 19th century around 1850–1880, faithfully reproducing the shapes and ornaments of the Louis XV cartels of the 18th century. Wear from use, chips in the polychromy and rubbing on the gilding revealing the red bolus. Incomplete set of its pendulum. Beautiful decorative appearance.
