"Christ In Ivory"
Large Christ measuring 37 centimeters from the tip of the hands to the tip of the feet and 23.5 centimeters wide. A true system work in the style of Pierre Simon Jaillot, the Christ, sculpted with his mouth open, has, through the mechanism of a removable peg, a system which attaches the teeth. We can therefore admire Christ with or without teeth. What did the artist want to contextualize by adding this detail to his work? No missing or broken parts
