Imperial Pedestal Table From Napoleon III Period
Exceptional Imperial Napoleon III Gueridon in gilded and silvered bronze. The top of white veined marble circled with a gilded bronze gallery. The base richly decorated with acanthus and gadroons, flanked by four loves framing coats of arms of monograms of the Empress Eugenie and the Emperor Napoleon III. The top is decorated with a circular bronze plaque in its center, engraved "Last Souvenir of his Majesty Napoleon III ... To Mr Nathaniel Strode Camden Place Castle, Chislehurst January 1873". This gueridon was the present of Princess Eugenie to their landlord and friend Mr Nathaniel Strode at the time of the death of the Emperor. Work certainly carried out by the prestigious house "Christofle". Unique and historic piece.
