He studied art at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse (1974–1975). He draws his inspiration from festive scenes, carnivals (especially in Bayonne), bullfighting, port atmospheres, street scenes, jazz musicians, orientalist or Moroccan landscapes. From the 1990s, he adopted the knife as his main tool, adding powerful impasto while maintaining lighter touches, to mark contrast and rhythm. Visible at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
