"Late 17th Century Walnut Bambocci Chest Of Drawers"
A remarkable walnut chest of drawers from the late 17th century. This compact piece of furniture, though of great cabinetmaking quality, features four drawers with frames and double panels on each drawer, almost suggesting there are eight drawers. The walnut drawer knobs are beautifully carved, depicting men's heads with hats in the round, while the side uprights feature caryatids carved almost in the round, partly with foliate elements. The legs are carved with brackets, the sides are notched, and the top is a single slab of walnut. The locks and key are original.
