Sewing Kit Covered In Shagreen And Decorated With Miniatures, France, 18th Century
"Souvenirs amitiés" cases in green shagreen, chased and openwork silver mount, decorated with two oval miniatures on each side. One depicting the portrait of a lady of quality, the other depicting two figures in a port in front of a ship. A push button opens the lid of the case which contains two needles, an awl, a pair of scissors, a pair of pliers and a notebook of two sheets in ivory or bone. France, 18th century period. Two small accessories missing, a small piece of shagreen on one corner of the lid.
