" José De La Fuente Grima (1915-1997) - Málaga: The Town Hall Seen From Gibralfaro"
- Oil on panel.- Pepe de la Fuente, as he was affectionately known to his friends and followers, was an artist who, despite the demands of life and the inevitable administrative work in a Malaga winery, never abandoned his true vocation. His dedication to painting, although conditioned by time and circumstances, remained a common thread that gave him a unique place in the history of Andalusian art. The need to combine these two facets limited his production, but it did not prevent him from obtaining such prestigious distinctions as the Medal of Artistic Merit or from leading a brilliant teaching career at the Malaga School of Art and Decoration. However, beyond awards and positions, his greatest contribution was his deep commitment to his city. His entire work can be understood as a declaration of love for Malaga, for its unique light, for the chromatic vibration offered by the sea that opens onto the mountains, for the vitality of its streets and for the melancholic depth of its quietest corners. His canvases capture the sea air of the port, the joy of the markets, the bustle of the inhabitants and, at the same time, the intimate calm of the patios and gardens. For him, Malaga was not only a setting, but a muse and a destiny: a colorful orchard where he knew how to interpret the harmony between nature and humanity. - Dimensions of the unframed image: 30 x 40 cm / 44 x 55 cm, with an elegant custom-made frame. - Galerie Montbaron includes a technical sheet prepared by a certified art historian with all its lots.
