- Oil on canvas.- In the most naturalistic vein of the Italian Baroque, paying homage to Caravaggio, this Saint Jerome reveals himself, thanks to a carefully crafted fold of his tunic, completely undressed to the spectators. The painting, which apocryphally copies the work of a disciple of Ribera, is magnificently executed and departs from the severe pictorial philosophy of the 17th century only in its conception of the complete nude.
