Very beautiful original terracotta, representing the Nemean Lion. Rare male and mythological subject by this artist. Perfect condition. This work is dated 1955, signed, monogrammed and countersigned on the back. The artist's name is Vadim Androusov. Born in 1895 in Saint Petersburg, he arrived in Paris in the 1920s and attended classes at the Grande Chaumières, with Bourdelle as his teacher. His first sculptures were inspired by figures from Antiquity. The artist rarely used bronze, preferring terracotta, wood, stone... He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Tuileries.
