"Patinated Plaster Sculpture Representing Orpheus Signed Vadim Androusov Early 20th Century"
Very beautiful original plaster, representing Orpheus surrounded. Rare male figure for this artist who collaborated notably with André Arbus. The artist's name is Vadim Androusov. Born in 1895 in Saint Petersburg, he arrived in Paris in the 1920s and attended classes at the Grande Chaumières, with Bourdelle as his teacher. His first sculptures were inspired by figures from Antiquity. The artist rarely uses bronze, preferring terracotta, wood, stone... He exhibits regularly at the Salon des Tuileries.
