Rare and precious reliquary of the True Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Ex Ligno S. Crucis DNJC), presented in an elegant octagonal cut crystal case encircled with gilded brass.

Description

In the center, a fragment of the Holy Cross is fixed in the shape of a cross, arranged on a red silk background decorated with painted rays and adorned with a handwritten cartouche Ex Ligno S. Crucis.
The reliquary is closed with red silk threads and a large intact episcopal wax seal, struck with a coat of arms, guaranteeing the authenticity and canonical validity of the relic.

This type of portable reliquary, intended for private devotion, is distinguished here by the finesse of its presentation in faceted crystal, rare and sought after.

Condition:

Good condition. A small chip in the upper part of the crystal (see photos), without affecting the relic or the seals.
