Pair Of Candelabras, Decorated With Fauns. Directoire Period
Large pair of gilt and patinated bronze candelabra, representing a couple of fauns, slightly bent, each carrying a flaming torch in each hand, arms widely spread.
They are dressed, bare-chested, in a drape, hanging from the shoulder, which envelops them to the top of the knees, the movement of the fabric helping to accentuate the impression of movement, of the posture of the fauns.
They rest on a white marble base, cylindrical and square in shape.
Directoire period
This pair of candelabra, with an unusual subject, and a beautiful size, is in very good condition.
A restoration on the top of the base, for one of them (visible in the photo)
