"Pair Of Dishes By A. De Carranza"
Amédée De Caranza (1843-1914). Born in Constantinople, his works were greatly influenced by Islamic art. Throughout his career, he worked in many renowned ceramic factories where he was able to develop innovative manufacturing techniques. The artist is now exhibited in many museums, including Longwy, the Musée D'Orsay in Paris, Hamburg and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. These dishes represent birds of prey perched on tree branches in a floral decoration of carnations and cherry blossoms on a pink and blue background. The texture is sandy, a technique patented by De Caranza. Other photos and information on request.
