He led a discreet but passionate life, dividing his time between cooking at the family restaurant La Mère Corbeau and his true vocation: painting.Influenced by post-impressionism, he received advice from his friend Maximilien Luce, which influenced some of his works produced in Rolleboise. He painted mainly in oils, on canvas, cardboard or panel, and his paintings often capture scenes of rain, villages and nature, with a soft and melancholic atmosphere. His works have been exhibited in numerous galleries, and he is still present on the art market today, particularly in France. René Prin died in 1985 and is buried in the Pacy-sur-Eure cemetery
