Dimensions with frame: 51 x 60 cm Sold with invoice and certificate of authenticity. A watercolourist of old Rouen and the cities of Burgundy, this employee of the western railway company dreams of distant travels. He stayed a few months in Argentina and, in 1936, he embarked for Tahiti. The lush vegetation of the majestic island invades his works, palm trees, cordylines and flamboyants are exhibited with brilliance on the black ash of the volcanoes. “Exotic” and wild beauty, imbued with an unreality that fascinates and invites you to dream. Back in Rouen, this great traveler became a watercolor teacher and executed many views of the city.
