Exceptional pair of porcelain vases from the Damm factory in Aschaffenburg, featuring a rich purple monochrome decoration of gallant scenes and landscapes, the handles gilded with fine gold are in the shape of entwined snakes.

History: Aschaffenburg, the district of Damm where the porcelain and fine earthenware factory was established from 1827 to 1884, had bought the "Hoechst" factory around the 1840s, reproducing the models of this same factory. The "Hoechst" porcelain factory, founded in 1746, closed its doors in 1796.
