REPUBLICAN GUARD OFFICER'S HELMET ON HORSEBACK,

Model 1876, Third Republic.

Helmet entirely in nickel-plated metal with gilded brass fittings.
It consists of a bomb, a visor and a neck guard both encircled by a brass band, a headband, two chinstraps, a crest, a black horsehair mane and a plume holder.
Brass front band stamped in relief with two laurel branches tied together by a ribbon, in the center are represented the arms of the City of Paris.
Chinstraps composed of two chin straps in black morocco leather covered with a series of scales cut into festoons and stamped with laurel leaves.
Brass plume holder engraved with acanthus leaves.
Set in very good condition. Original box present with a lack (see photos)
