Beautiful polychrome and gilded wooden sculpture depicting a Saint Martyr standing at full length. The work is excellently carved and the polychromy shows a splendid color and is in excellent condition. The colors are the most typical used for wooden sculptures depicting female figures. In fact, the entirely gilded dress covers a white petticoat and is covered by a blue mantle. The drapes of the garments are perfectly executed and the folds, although very worked, are natural. The decoration is perfectly vertical and the movement of the protagonist is contained with her face turned forward. The work, while maintaining the stylistic connotations of the 16th century, dates back to the 17th century and is truly in excellent general condition. It still presents all its original polychromy and with pure gold on a red shaft, without restorations or replacements. The only defects are the thumb of the left hand and the upper part of the palm of the martyr of the right hand. The Saint rests on a beautiful faux marble base which enhances his beautiful proportions.
