This lacquer box features a delicate lakeside scene in gold on a black background, enhanced with mother-of-pearl inlays. The corners and the keyhole escutcheon in gilt copper display intricate openwork arabesque designs.
The front opens with a door revealing four drawers, the interior lined with aventurine lacquer, one of which is designed to hold inkwells.
It stands on four ebony ball feet.
