Large 18th Century Blown Glass Illusion Or "trick Glass"
An object of entertainment or practical joke in the 17th and 18th centuries, trick glass is designed with a trick or a hidden mechanism to surprise the person using it. Our example, with its lightly tinted material, resting on a wide hemmed foot, has a large truncated cone-shaped cup connected at the bottom to a ball-shaped reservoir with three protrusions, one of which is pierced to allow all the liquid to escape. Dimensions: height 19.5 cm - diameter of the foot 10 cm - of the cup 9 cm. Rare object in very good condition.
