Pair Of Art Nouveau-era Porcelain And Silver Cups By Frédéric Hennig, 20th Century
A pair of porcelain coffee cups and saucers, featuring a Japanese-style design of flowering branches painted in gold and silver, set against a glossy black glaze; the interiors of the cups and the centers of the saucers are entirely gilded.
Each piece is encircled by a solid silver rim adorned with a Greek fret frieze.
The Minerva hallmark (1st title) is present on all the mountings, complemented by the master silversmith’s mark of Frédéric Hennig (awarded in 1856), visible on the saucers.
Dimensions: saucer diameter 12.5 cm; cup height and diameter 6.2 cm.
In good overall condition, with no cracks or chips. One of the saucers shows some wear visible in the photographs. The gilding inside the cups is well preserved.
