"Directoire Style Fan From The Duvelleroy House, Made Around 1900"
A painted decor of birds of paradise on flowering branches and vases of roses, sown with gold or silver sequins applied on a fine canvas surrounded by a Greek key mounted on blades of pierced and gilded blond horn, this sums up the charming decor of this fan in the taste of the late 18th century, made around 1900 by the Duvelleroy house in Paris. The reverse is sober, covered with a decor of monochrome flowers. Small in size, the extreme refinement of the decor immerses us in French luxury at the beginning of the 20th century. The Duvelleroy house has survived the changes in taste of successive fashions, and still offers, in addition to affordable ranges for every day, true masterpieces, calling on Parisian feather workers. It also collaborates with major fashion houses such as Balenciaga. Signed on the back
