19th Century Scottish Brooch

Large Scottish brooch in the shape of an anchor, symbol of hope, set with four smoky quartz from the Cairgorn. Parts appear to be lacquered black in place of colored granite stones. no hanging system at the back, but you can sew it on a tartan garment or a hat. Scottish brooches were highly prized by Queen Victoria after her installation at Balmoral Castle in 1852.
