Jacques Dufrane was born in 1947 into a modest, working-class family, far removed from the art world and from a disadvantaged background due to the economic difficulties of the post-war period. Passionate about art but working as a foundry worker in an industrial environment, Jacques Dufrane drew inspiration from this experience, both in terms of techniques and motifs.
