Regule Sculpture Of Mephistopheles Based On Jacques-louis Gautier

Charming regule sculpture with green patina representing Mephistopheles, the famous demon from the legend of Faust, based on the model by sculptor Jacques-Louis Gautier. The work is presented on a black marble base, topped by a two-tiered pedestal in régule.
At the back, a rod added at a later date supports a small brazier decorated with owl heads and crosses, transforming the piece into an original candlestick or incense burner.

Condition: the pen is missing as it has been broken.
