Fourdinois - Renaissance Style Castle Mirror
Artist: Henri Auguste Fourdinois (1830-1907)
Exceptional and sumptuous richly carved walnut mirror in the Renaissance style. In the center of the pediment is carved a mask representing the face of a satyr surrounded by two putti. On either side of the mirror, 2 large nymphs are sculpted and serve as bronze torch holders composed of three branches. 19th century French work of very very fine craftsmanship.
