"Sculpture - Pierre Amourette"
Sculpture by Pierre Amourette, to be restored. 68 cm high, 35 cm wide approximately. To be restored (the broken pieces are in a pouch). Born in Jersey in 1947, Pierre Amourette arrived in France at the age of 4. He began his career as a specialized teacher in Eure et Loir, and arrived in Nogent le Rotrou in 1973. Ten years later, after restoring a farm dating from the end of the 19th century, he moved to "Les Crocs" with his wife and two daughters. Since his early childhood, nature has attracted him; snails and lizards accompanied him in his favorite games, today it is animals that can be found in some of his works. In stone first, then wood and currently through ceramics, he creates often ambivalent characters that do not leave one indifferent. A significant part of his production focuses on motherhood, but he also creates jars, plates, platters, and sometimes animals. For him, "it is not the object itself that is interesting, but the memory of a moment that it conveys." Pierre Amourette, I am a ceramist who plays with clay. I also work with other materials: wood, stone, iron, plaster, depending on the projects that come to mind or the requests. If clay imposed itself on me, it is because it allows me to work quickly, to go directly to the emotion. Indeed, the ceramics created are intended to be a medium, a story that everyone can interpret in their own way.
