A superb and substantial 19th-century solid silver tea and coffee set from the Kutch region of Gujarat, India, renowned for its richly ornamented repoussé and chased silverwork.

This four-piece set includes:

  • One coffee pot (tall, slender)

  • One tea pot (shorter, rounded)

  • One sugar bowl

  • One milk or cream jug

Each vessel is masterfully decorated with:

  • Figural panels of Hindu deities or celestial attendants, set within temple-style cusped arches

  • Intricate floral, foliate, and scroll motifs, densely worked across all surfaces

  • Finely cast elephant finials atop each lid, a symbol of royal strength and auspiciousness

  • Stylized feet and ornate handles, all in keeping with high-quality 19th-century Indian craftsmanship

Although unmarked (as is typical for Indian silver of this period), the set has been professionally tested as high-grade solid silver.

Dimensions:

  • Tallest piece (coffee pot): 21.7 cm in height

  • Total combined weight: 1620 grams

An important collector's ensemble in excellent condition, exemplifying the luxury silverwork of the Kutch school during the 19th century.

Provenance: Private European collection.
