Henry Bonnefoy (1839-1917) ''mouse And Blue Tit''
Artist: Henry Bonnefoy
Born in Boulogne-sur-Mer on April 5, 1839, Henry-Arthur Bonnefoy grew up in an intellectual environment alongside his father Pierre-Amboise Bonnefoy, headmaster of the Haute Ville school, and his uncles, music and fencing teachers at the same school.
He showed a real talent for painting very early on, and his first works, devoted mainly to landscapes of the Boulonnais region, attracted the attention of critics from the age of sixteen. Sensing a promising painter in his home, Sir Richard Wallace, whom he met during a fencing class given by his uncle, bought his first painting in 1854.
