Painter, fresco artist and engraver, in 1903, he joined the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon which he left in October 1907 for the École des beaux-arts de Paris where he was admitted to the workshop of Fernand Cormon until July 1910. Bouquet became friends with Joseph Bernard and Marcel-Lenoir. He was a student of Paul Baudoüin in the fresco workshop in 1911 and also a student of Marcel-Lenoir. In 1912, Maurice Denis associated him with the decoration of the ceiling of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in (Paris).
