Albert-Ernest Carrier de Belleuse, known as Carrier-Belleuse, a French sculptor, was one of the most prolific artists of the century and enjoyed the greatest success under the Second Empire, benefiting from the personal support of Napoleon III.
His work was greatly influenced by the style of the Italian Renaissance and that of the 18th century, which he helped to bring back into fashion.
E. COLLIN & CIE PARIS
Émile Colin, a famous founder established since 1843 at 29 rue de Sévigné in Paris, began producing the greatest masters of French sculpture from 1855, such as AE Carrier-Belleuse, J. Pradier and JB Carpeaux from 1875, and the Parisian goldsmith Christofle.
He marked his bronzes with the mention “E. Colin & Cie” from 1882 to 1898.
