A small, unusual surgical tracheotomy kit, comprising:-two ivory-handled scalpels for opening the trachea;-three double silver cannulas of different sizes;-three obturators, one for each cannula size, made of steel andThe set is kept in an original leather case, lined with purple silk and velvet. The obturators and the two scalpels are signed Hawksley in London. On the top of the lid, the name of the owner at the time: "AR Ticehurst", an assistant surgeon, active at least from the 1870s to the 1890s.The set is in perfect condition. The leather hinge of the case is fragile.
