"Mid-18th Century Cardboard Hourglass Covered With Hand-painted Paper"
Cardboard hourglass covered with blue, red and orange tinted paper decorated with waves, with circular bases of the same decoration.

An opening in the frame reveals the vial made up of two clear "bubbled" glass bulbs connected together by a wax seal covered with red fabric tightened with a gray cord.

Orange silica sand flows inside.
