Mid-18th Century Cardboard Hourglass Covered With Hand-painted Paper
An opening in the frame reveals the vial made up of two clear "bubbled" glass bulbs connected together by a wax seal covered with red fabric tightened with a gray cord.
Orange silica sand flows inside.
