Chaty Vallauris Sun Mirror Diameter 86 Cm
Trained at the Boulle school during the 1920s, Gilbert Poillerat developed a passion for iron and metalwork. Within a few years, he was known as one of the most important French ironworkers. In the 1940s, he imagined and designed a gilded metal mirror depicting the rays of a sun: the iconic Chaty VALLAURIS sun mirror was born. In the 1940s and 1950s, these sun mirrors were produced in the CHATY ironworks in the town of VALLAURIS in the Alpes Maritimes. Note the incredible ironwork: the rays are made of folded metal and the outline of the mirror is made of twisted metal. Contact us for delivery. Dimensions: 86 cm in diameter. Size of the mirror alone: 24 cm in diameter. This magnificent gilded metal mirror is in very good condition, you can see it in our Clermont-Ferrand store.
