"Antique Oriental Dagger – 19th Century Indo-persian Work"
Oriental dagger from the 19th century, probably of Indo-Persian origin, accompanied by its original scabbard. The object presents engraving and ornamentation work typical of the traditional craftsmanship of the region. The handle, with a trilobed pommel, is decorated with acid-etched geometric and plant motifs. Two brass or bronze cabochons adorn the junction between the handle and the blade. The single-edged blade also has symmetrical ornamentation in a stylized floral style. The scabbard is matching, with decoration engraved along its entire length, in the same ornamental spirit. A metal ring allows it to be attached to a belt or a baldric. An object representative of traditional weapons of the khanjar or pesh-kabz type, used both as a weapon of port and a status symbol.
